it’s not photoshop as such, but it was taken from a photoshop tutorial. paint.net is a much simpler program to use, though it’s usefulness and options are far shallower than photoshop or creative suite. it’s also a free program which we have at school. the stuff that i have done on it takes less than ten steps. so, i’ll prolly teach the students some at school. here’s the first one:

i’m pretty ticked off, for a few reasons: 1) i haven’t updated in a while. 2) when leaving korea, i didn’t bring the cd with adobe bridge and cs3 with me. i put them in a box to be sent here, thinking it would only be a month. i’ve been told it could take up to three. 3) adobe photoshop 6 doesn’t have a raw reader or converter. never had, never will. there’s no plugin and no updates. adobe doesn’t use or make software that can be used by older cameras or vice versa. so my ‘new’ d40 isn’t really compatible with an older adobe program when it comes to raw files. you’d think it would be universal, but it’s not.

this basically means i can’t edit an of my korea or hong kong photos until i get the box. i’ve had to switch back to using jpeg for now. annoying…
