sheffield wednesday were swept aside by championship contenders, west bromich albion, 4-0 overnight to send the owls closer to the relegation zone. former owl, chris brunt, sealed the win with his late goal, leaving the blue and whites winless in six games. wednesday have only two draws to their credit during that stretch and were never in the hunt as the baggies ran rampant.
two goals to simon cox before the half hour and one before half time essentially made this a no-contest. as always, lee grant kept the home team in it, making save after save and while not winning the game for his team, he certainly stopped it from becoming a double-digit rout. btw i do believe lee grant is now my favourite wednesday player.
wednesday see their decline down the ladder reach a season-low at 19th.

sheffield wednesday snored their way to a goalless draw with ipswich town overnight. neither side could muster any type of effective attack. wednesday goalie, lee grant, proved to be the owls’ saviour, as well as the tractor boys’ nemesis as he saved on multiple occasions to deny ipswich any chance of gaining ascendancy. *snore*
the draw sends wednesday down to 17th on the table. they’ll have to improve if they are to trouble high-flying west bromich albion next round.
it’s been a long while between posts. so much has happened, with so little time to report. i don’t even know where to start. i could mention the marriage and dave coming over, the nights out in brisbane for photography and seeing plays. but then i’d have to balance that with rants about school and the shit i’m going through. instead, i’ll offer this photo as a visual distraction. it was taken on a night out at south bank. it’s called the wheel of brisbane.

… is a coked out terrible lizard. check it out at the oatmeal

sheffield wednesday played one their better games of the year to fight back and grab a point against bristol city at ashton gate overnight. both teams exchanged chances in the first half but neither could fashion a goal. goalkeeper, lee grant, made some superb saves from several well-carved chances.
the second half livened up when city took the lead after an hour. a poor clearance from the owls’ defense was snet back into the box, where striker, nicky maynard, gave the robins the edge. with 15 minutes to go, marcus tudgay put luke varney through, where he unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25 yards out.
the draw leaves wednesday in 14th.
