sheffield wednesday remained midtable as veteran steve watson came off the bench, scoring an otherwise undeserving equaliser at swansea overnight. watson had entered the fray with 20 minutes remaining and had been on less than a minute when he climbed unchallenged to meet a marcus tudgay cross, guiding it home. the home side had dominated all day while a lacklustre wednesday outift hardly troubled the swansea backline all day.
having watched the second helloboy movie, let me put this on the record right now: i liked this movie a lot more than the dark knight. maybe it’s because batman doesn’t offer anything new. maybe there’s only so much brooding and self-loathing you can take. maybe i’m not a hype monkey that jumps on every band wagon that rumbles along. i’m not saying the dark knight is a bad movie. far from it. it’s a decent movie. well acted, well shot, well told.
that being said, i just out and out enjoyed hellboy 2: the golden army a lot more. it’s funny, got good action and great cgi. to top it all off, i found two interesting points: 1) the guy that played abe sapien, doug jones, also plays two other characters in the movie: the chamberlain and the angel of death. he also played the silver surfer in fantastic four: rise of the silver surfer. 2) the elf prince, luke goss, happens to be the drummer from 80’s phenoms, bros. when will i be famous, luke? not right now, but you got a decent movie at least…
go see it right now. or have a sleep, a bite to eat then see it. either way…
update: millie (possibly vanilli) has pointed out that luke goss was the drummer, not the singer, in bros. i just write what i hear from various sources. but i’ll stand corrected… for now
it cost me a small fortune but i got myself a neat 2gig sd card and back-up battery for my nikon. the store didn’t carry the generic type but even so, they retail for only a few dollars less than the nikon brand batteries. so i spent the extra five dollars and bought the genuine brand. they both should come in handy for the canberra trip. i’m really hoping to shoot some star swirls at the camping ground. all i think i’ll need will be a fully charged battery and about half an hour. it’s a start at least…
sheffield wednesday continued their inconsistent form, dominating preston north end, yet only coming away with a 1-all draw. the owls treated the hillsborough crowd to some first class football, deservedly going ahead after 20 minutes. however, the second half saw a litany of missed chances, culminating in preston grabbing an equaliser with just over 10 minutes remaining. the draw sees preston continue their unbeaten run extend to three games, while sheffield sits midtable in 11th.
ever wondered what $87 billion look like? have a look at this.
in my class at school, we’ve set up a weekly activity where the students have written down a question, any question (as long as common sense is abided by), and every week we choose a question and research to find the solution. this week’s question was: what is the world’s largest number?. it’s actually quite interesting, while researching for the answers to the questions, i’ve been learning quite a bit. anyway, onto the answer. the largest number in mathematic is known as “graham’s number“. gay name but evidently very long. i don’t have the ability to explain it, but there is a very good description here. in plain numbers, a googol is a one followed by a hundred zeros, while a googolplex is a one followed by a googol zeros.
